Wilma Ione Schwind, 93, of Traverse City, passed away Fri, Jan 10, 2020 at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.
Wilma was born on Fri, Sep 17, 1926 to the late Jacob L and Nora Ellen (Morse) Spencer in Traverse City. She was a lifelong resident of Traverse City.
She married John W. Schwind on Wed, Jun 26, 1946 in Traverse City.
Wilma is survived by her children, Gloria (Werner) Steinwender, of Vienna, Austria, Gwen (James) Kuemin of Suttons Bay, Geoffery (Patti) Schwind, of Enterprise, AL, Janet (Daniel) Fitzpatrick of Lynn Haven, FL, Gerard (Sue Winter) Schwind of Ellsworth, Joni (Dave) Bizjak, of Reynoldsburg, OH, Jennifer (Valerie Singleton) Schwind of Star Valley, AZ, Gerda (Rick) Arcia, of Gastonia, NC, and Jerome (Deborah) Schwind of Lake Isabella; 22 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Marcia Schwind, of Traverse City; a brother in law, Ferris Glass; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; son, Gregory; and siblings, E.R. "Seab" Spencer, Nina (Puishes) Zeits, Arvilla Stockfisch, Veronica Lewis, Ellen Cunningham, Marvel (Louie) LaFranier, and Carmel Glass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am Fri, Jan 17 at St Francis Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. The Rev. Fr. Donald Geyman will celebrate the Mass. Interment will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family is being cared for by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
