Private William Setter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Setter, of Maple Valley Township, and well known in the area, died in France on Sun, Oct 27, from wounds received in action. He had always made his home with his parents prior to his enlistment about one year ago. He was about 20 years of age and was born in Flynn.

Private Setter enlisted at Bay City. He was assigned to Camp Chester. Later he went to Waco, TX and went overseas with the Thirty-Second brigade last Feb. He was assigned to Co. B102 M.G. company and had been to action with the fighting Thirty-second division for some time. He was a daring soldier and like the rest of his division fought a good fight from the start. Besides his parents he is survived by one sister, Velma aged about 10 years, and numerous other relatives and friends.
