William E. Lifford, 68, of Kalkaska, died Monday, Sept. 17, 1990 at his residence.
Mr. Lifford lived in Lansing until 12 years ago when he moved to Kalkaska County. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles in Lansing. He was a salesman for Graybar Electric Co. in Lansing prior to his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Lifford was born in Ithaca on Sept 16, 1922, to William and Elizabeth Campbell Lifford. On July 17, 1943, in Lansing, he was married to Betty Beers who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Lifford of Diamondale and James Lifford of Mason; one daughter, Patricia Papendick of Grayling; one sister, Nona Lifford of Squim, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Sept 19, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Dr. Dennis N. Paulson, pastor of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church of Grayling, officiated. A second memorial service was held Saturday, Sept 22, 1990, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Rev. David Saglimbene, pastor of the Calvary Assembly of God officiated.
