William D. Sanders, 78, of Traverse City, died Tue, Sep 9, 1997, at his residence.
Mr. Sanders was born in Akron, OH on Jan 28, 1919, the son of Frank and Grace Atkinson Sanders. He spent his early years in Canada. On Jan 2, 1943, he was married to Pearl Boismier in Riverview.
Mr. Sanders was employed by McLouth Steel Corporation for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1980. He then moved to Kalkaska, where he resided until 1992, when he moved to Traverse City.
He was a former member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges, and enjoyed hunting and working around his home.
Surviving are his wife Pearl; daughters Andrea Coe of Farmington Hills and Billy Sue Inasy of Romulus; one granddaughter and three great grandchildren.
A sister, Florence, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sep 12 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
