Willard Hollingsworth was born Nov 7, 1891 in Hemlock, Indiana. He married Bertha Luellen on Nov 12, 1912 in Hemlock. The couple and their son Claude came to Wisconsin in April 1920 and built a new home across where Ma & Pa's is located on Hwy 141. Willard farmed and also bought chickens and calves and sold them to stores in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Farmers from the area brought their cream to Bertha to be tested, and then Willard would haul the cans of milk to the little depot, where all the trains stopped, for the cream to be shipped to a creamery. Later, they had a small store in their home.

Their son Claude was married to Eunice McEwing and they had two children, Wanda and Richard.
Their second son Oscar Richard, age 20, was killed in action while on a bombing raid over Austria on July 26, 1944.
