Wilda Jean Vipond Hargis, 48, of Ojai, died Saturday, Sept 1, 1990 in a Ventura, Calif. hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1942 in Kalkaska. She had been a resident of Ojai, Calif. for 13 years coming from Santa Maria, Calif. She was am ember of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Ojai. She had been an accountant.
She is survived by her husband James A. Hargis of Ojai; two daughters, Debra A. Brown of Imperial Beach, Calif. and Jacqueline D. Hines of Ojai; her mother Ellen Vipond of Lompoc, Calif; one sister, Ida Melton of Lompoc, Calif, one brother, Walter O. Vipond of Sacramento, Calif. and one grandchild.
Services were held at the Church of Our Redeemer in Ojai with Pastor John Classick officiated. Graveside services were held immediately following at Santa Paula Cemetery in Santa Paula.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
