Walter C. Sik Rites Tuesday
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm from Emmanuel Episcopal church in Petoskey for Walter C. Sik, 57, 426 Grove St, who died Saturday at Little Traverse Hospital where he had been a patient for five weeks. He had been in ill health for many years. The Rev. Dwaine W. Filkins will officiate.
He was born May 22, 1900 in Kegomic. He married Reahnette Hurlburt of Newberry in Charlevoix on Jun 28, 1922 and the couple moved to Petoskey where they have since resided. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Mr. Sik was employed as a foreman at the Petoskey Portland Cement Company for 31 years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Sweet of Dearborn; one grandchildren; two brothers, Marino of Petoskey and Alver of Falls Church, VA.
The body is at the Briggs Funeral Home where friends may call until 1 pm on Tuesday. The body will lie in state at the Episcopal church from 1 to 2 pm Tuesday.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
