Vera C. Schneider, 95, of Kalkaska, died Apr 21, 2004, at Florida Hospital in Sebring, FL.
Vera was born in Benzie County on Dec 11, 1908. She married Edward Schneider in 1928 and moved to Kalkaska shortly thereafter. They ran a gas station, cabin/motel business for many years and Vera continued to run her motel into her 94th year. She was a charter member of the Academea Club and a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ.
She is survived by T. Edward Snyder, her cousin, lifelong friend and close companion; her son, Edward A. (Nancy) Schneider of Manistee; her daughter, Nora A (William) DeWitt of Warren; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren' brother, Gene (Jeannie) Snyder of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Gertrude Snyder; husband, Edward C. Schneider; daughter, K Jane Henderson; two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will take place on Sun, May 2, from 4 to 8 pm. at Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. The funeral service will be on Mon, May 3, at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
