Treva Ione Guilfoyle Johnson, 88, of Flint, formerly of Sheridan, passed away Wed, January 17, 2007 at Visiting Nurses of Michigan, Flint.
Treva was born September 8, 1918, in Sheridan to Roy and Cornelia “Nellie” Brigham Guilfoyle.
She was raised in Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1936. She was employed several years at General Motors as a secretary. Her many hobbies included crocheting, knitting, and animals.
Treva was preceded in death by one sister and brother in law, Merriel and Lynn Posey; husband, Sam Johnson; brother in law, Garret VanCovering, and her parents.
Treva is survived by one daughter, Susan Gershenson of Simi Valley, CA; one son, Michael Ledin of Oxnard, CA; one sister, Beulah VanCovering; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and very good friend, Vickie Mahoney of Mount Morris, who cared and provided for Treva for many years.
Funeral services were 2pm Mon, January 22, at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Vestaburg with Pastor Dale Murray officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Cemetery, Sheridan.
Visitation was 12pm to 2pm Mon at the funeral home.
