In Memory of
Todd Eugene French

BIRTH: 15 Apr 1967 Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan

DEATH: 26 Sep 2017

Todd Eugene French, of Portland, OR, died unexpectedly Sep 26, 2017. He was born Apr 15, 1967 to Gayle Arbutus (Sewell) and Philip Eugene French in Traverse City. He married Kimberly Ann (Fife) on Aug 5, 1989. Together they raised two talented, much beloved sons.

Todd’s professional accomplishments included a bachelor’s from Michigan Technological University, then continued with a master’s and doctorate in physics from the University of Illinois. After 11 years working in medical technology, he returned to school earning a law degree form Lewis and Clark, becoming a patent attorney with Dascenzo Intellectual Property Law.

Todd’s impressive credentials pale in comparison to the fullness of his personal life and interests. He was an active member of Lake Oswego United Methodist Church, an avid outdoorsman, devoted bowler and wine enthusiast. He was a consummate student and teacher, sharing himself in countless ways. Most importantly, his life overflowed with spirit of kindness, generosity and deep love for family. Todd French didn’t demand anything, but he inspired much: respect, laughter and love. He also refused to wear socks.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sons, Coel Alexander and Connor Chase; brother, Tim (Kathy) French, of Little Rock, AK; sister, Tammi (Mike) DiRenzo of Broomfield, CO; sister in law, Tracy (Randy) Johnson of Fairplay, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Marfan Foundation, Oregon Humane Society or Lake Oswego UMC’s Sunday Morning Alive Worship.
