Thomas (Tom) Lee McKellar, 61, formerly from Kalkaska, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Carthage, MO, on Oct 17, which also happened to be his mothers 88th birthday.
He was born Jun 12, 1947, in Kalkaska, the son of Wendell Arthur McKellar and Helen Josephine (Mizer) (McKellar) Munyon. His father preceded him in death. He was a custodian for the Carthage K-9 School District. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage.
Tom is survived by son, Scott McKellar, retired military; daughters, Angela McKellar of Georgetown, TX, Merissa, Breanna, and Serenna McKellar of Carthage; sisters, Elaine Jasperse of Lewisburg, WV, Kay Thuem of Houston, TX, Virginia Pulford of Cadillac, Jerri Gilbert of Westford, MA, Wendi Gonyer of Princeton, IN; brothers, Tommy W McKellar of Kalkaska and Roy Munyon of Harrisville and three grandchildren.
Tom would have graduated in the Kalkaska High School Class of 1965, but the family moved to Harrisville in 1964, where he graduated from the Alcona High School Class of 1965.
His mother had fallen and broken her hip the night before Tom's passing and is temporarily at the Lutheran Manor in Cadillac.
