Mr. Thomas J Pickering, Sr, age 92, died on Jun 22, 2007, of heart failure. He was born Dec 13, 1914, in Saginaw, MI. He later moved to Royal Oak, MI, where he met and married the former Ethel L Anderson on Aug 17, 1940. They moved to Berkley, MI and raised their family and retired to Kalkaska, MI. The moved to Lakeland, FL in 2004. Mr Pickering served in the Civilian Construction Core from 1933 to 1934. Mr Pickering served in the US Army during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2645 in Southfield, MI. He was employed at Hodges Doge in Ferndale, MI before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Pickering of Lakeland, FL; 2 sons, Thomas (Donna) Pickering, Jr of Farmington, IL and Paul Pickering of Three Rivers, MI; 1 daughter, Sharon (Keith) Herber of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; half brothers, Archie (Merri) Pickering of Ocala, FL, and Arthur of Michigan.
