Mrs. Sylvia M Myers, 91, of East Jordan, formerly of Kalkaska, died Sun, Jun 29, 1997, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.
Mrs. Myers moved to Kalkaska County in 1951, from Detroit. She was a former member of the Coldsprings-Excelsior Taxpayers Association, and she enjoyed baking, canning, and nature.
Born in Mendon on Mar 19, 1906, the daughter of James and Loretta Hoover Gannon. She married Carl Myers on Apr 16, 1927, in Beulah, IN. He preceded her in death on Jun 8, 1988.
Surviving are sons Harold (Maude) Myers and Garold (Marlynn) Myers, both of East Jordan, and Ford (Janet) Myers of Bellaire; daughter Mrs. Jean (Norman) Durkin of Traverse City; sister Lillian Knierim of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
Sisters Edith, Erma, and Eathel and brother Charles preceded her in dath.
Funeral services were held at 10 am Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Bob Carter officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Memorial gifts may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
