Mrs. Sara E. Allen, 79, of Central Lake, died Friday evening, December 7, 1990 at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals in Petoskey.
Mrs. Allen had been a lifelong resident of Antrim and Kalkaska Counties. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, and enjoyed her family and sewing.
She was born in Stockbridge on April 30, 1911 to Fred and Bessie Green Stacy. On Aug. 16, 1927, in Kalkaska, she was married to Clare B. Allen who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1983.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, David, and Donald, and one great-grandson.
Surviving are two sons, James Allen of Vanderbilt, and George Allen of East Lansing; one daughter, Marion Lacy of Central Lake; three sisters, Louise Lybarker of Alanson, Vina Headley of Kalkaska, and Alice Austin of Temple; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec 10, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Westwood Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
