Samuel W. Powers, 82, died Saturday at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. Born in Blackford County, he was a Blackford County resident most of his life. He retired from Warner Gear in 1974. He was a WWII Army veteran. His first wife, Forest L, died in 1985. His second wife, Letha, died in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Leist of Gas City and Ann Elizabeth Cavanaugh of Hartford City; and a son, Robert W. “Bob” of Hartford City; a half sister, Doris Yockey of Lansing, MI; and five grandchildren. Services at 2 pm Tuesday at Keplinger Funeral Home, Hartford City. Calling from 6 to 9 pm, Monday and two hours before services on Tuesday. Entombment in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Muncie.
