Ruth L. Girard, 86, of Midland died Monday, Feb 4, 1991, at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1904, in South Boardman, the daughter of the late Jesse and Mable (Hodges) Harvey.
She married Earl J. Girard in Roseville March 17, 1928. Mr. Girard died June 19, 1985.
Mrs. Girard lived for many years in New Baltimore where she was active in church and volunteer activities. In 1968, she and her husband moved to Manistee Lake where she resided until moving to Midland in 1988.
Survivors include her daughter, Dona McArdle, and her husband Thomas of Midland; one son, Earl Girard and his wife Marilyn of Hesperia; two sisters, Celena E. Harvey of Midland and Lily F. Smith of East Detroit; five granddaughters, Kelly Wright and Debra Finn of Midland, Karen McArdle of Vienna, VA, Patricia Avery of Ashburn, VA, and Jean Sorensen of Hesperia; three grandsons, Thomas McArdle of Midland, James Girard of Shelby, and Earl J Girard of Hesperia; and eight great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb 8 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever and Co. Funeral Home in Midland. Officiating was Rev. Fr. John Bellon, C.Ss.R., with burial in Midland Cemetery.
