Ruth G. Lantzer, 74, of South Boardman, died Sat, Jul 8, 2000, at Jackson County Medical Care Facility in Jackson.
Mrs. Lantzer resided in Livonia until 28 years ago when she moved to Kalkaska County. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Burroughs Corporation in Plymouth. She was a member of the Pine Grove Church of God in Traverse City and the Boardman Area Senior Citizens Club. She was also active with Special Olympics, the community choir, and North Country Hospice. She enjoyed vocal music.
She was born in Oakland County on Feb 5, 1926, the daughter of Samuel and Augusta Shook Pierce. She married Richard Lantzer in Toledo, OH, on Jul 4, 1946. He preceded her in death on Oct 12, 1983.
Surviving are daughter Gloria Morano of Munith; step daughter Alta Tokarzewski of Florida; sister Naomi Allen of Florida; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Stepson LaRoy Lantzer, and brothers Neil, Bill, Lawrence, and Charles Pierce, preceded her in death.
A service in appreciation for the life of Ruth Lantzer will be at 11 am Wed, Jun 12, at the Pine Grove Church of God in Traverse City; Pastor Marc Hoard will officiate. burial will follow in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Arrangements were made by the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
