Ruth E. Flatter, 91, passed away at 12:20 am Sat, Nov 21, 2015 at Thurston Woods in Sturgis, MI. She had lived in Hartford City for many years before moving to LaGrange, IN to be closer to her family.
She was born in Dunkirk on Jan 3, 1924 to Reason Slentz and Pearl (Cortright) Slentz. Both parents precede her in death.
Ruth married Charles D. Flatter and he precedes her in death on Jul 30, 1988.
She retired from Indiana Glass Company. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, AMVETS Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Ladies of the Moose.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her son, Wilson L. (wife, Joyce) Slentz of LaGrange; grandchildren, Greg (wife, Carla) Slentz, Gary (wife, Monica) Slentz; great grandchildren, Dylan, John, Wanda, and Spencer; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Clyde R. Jones, sisters, Hazel Spangler, Marie Bellemore, Evelyn Templin, Mildred Slentz, brothers, Harry Slentz and Sam Lanning.
Funeral service will be at 11am Tue, Nov 24, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve High officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11am Tue, Nov 24, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
