Ruth A. Bowen, 53, died suddenly Sat, Jan 14, 1995, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Grand Traverse County.
She was born Sep 1, 1941, to Myron and Helen Caverly Kelley in Caro, and attended Kingston School. She lived in Tuscola County for much of her life until settling in Kalkaska.
Mrs. Bowen was employed by Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City. She enjoyed reading, crafts, bingo, country western music, outdoor life and spoiling her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Dahl of Kalkaska; her former husband Robert Frank Hodges of Caro; her former mother in law, Jean Elizabeth Donaldson of Caro; two brothers, Harley and Myron Kelley both of Caro; one sister, Mrs. Chuck (Shirley) Davis of Kingston, and six grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Brian (Bri Guy), Travis, Abbey, and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Bowen; her father, son, brother, and mother.
Funeral services were held Thu, Jan 19, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Father Patrick Barrett officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Memorial gifts may be made directly to her daughter, Kimberly.
