Ruby Irene Slentz, 64, 6844 E. County Rd 250-N, died Wednesday in Blackford County Hospital.
She was a housewife and lifelong resident of Blackford County. She was a member of Pleasantdale United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Albert (Jack) Slentz; two daughters, Sandra Schwartkopf, Poneto, and Sally Mehling, Chapel Hill, NC; two sons, Jack T. Slentz, New Castle, and Gregg A. Slentz, Hartford City; five brothers, Orland Williams, Arthur Williams and Warren Williams, all of Hartford City, Russell Williams, Sunny Vale, CA, and William Williams, Virginia Beach, VA; five sisters, Ruth Fudge, Fort Meyers, FL, Mary Byers, Greenwood, Deloris Cook, Alta Loma, CA, and Rosana Williams, and Marilyn Jean Kirkwood, both of Hartford City; six grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
Services will be at 2 pm Friday in Pleasantdale United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Loft officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. Calling hours at Walker Funeral Home, Montpelier, are 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm today and before services Friday.
