Rubin H. Bowlin, 86, a resident of Kalkaska for the past 35 years died Thursday, February 22, 1990, at Lakeview Lutheran Manor in Cadillac.
Mr. Bowlin resided in Lansing, where he was employed by the Fisher Body Company, prior to moving to Kalkaska. In Kalkaska he owned and operated the Kalkaska Tackle Company for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and was a member of the Peoples Church.
Mr. Bowlin was born in Dresden, TN on Sept. 23, 1903, to Walter and Zula Rogers Bowlin. He was married in 1945, in Jackson to Gladys Kasherider who preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1974.
Surviving are one son, Richard Bowlin of Grand Ledge; one daughter, Robbie Heim of Lake City; six grandchildren; and several grea-grandchildren.
One son, Donald, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church, officiated. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
