Rosa Lena Powell, 93, of Rapid City, died Wed, Jun 14, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Powell resided in Cadillac until 20 years ago when she moved to Kalkaska County. She was a member of the Cadillac Church of God and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed her family.
She was born in Merom, IN, on Mar 3, 1907, the daughter of Price and Loucritia Eslinger Wilson. On Oct 17, 1929, in Macomb, she was united in marriage with John Wesley Powell. He preceded her in death on Jan 4, 1974.
Surviving are daughter Leah (Charles) Davis of Rapid City and numerous grandchildren, great grand children, great-great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
Son John Wesley Powell III; daughters Rosalie Powell, June Powell and Rachael (Lester) Dinsmore; and stepchildren Lyle Powell, Florence Farmer, Orville Powell, and Ruby Mussell, preceded her in death.
A service honoring and celebrating the life of Rosa Powell was Jun 19 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. William Markham officiated. Interment was in Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
