Ronald "Pappy" Burns, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Manton, Aug 27, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Prior to living in Manton, Ron lived and worked in Kalkaska.
Born Nov 21, 1937, in Detroit, he was the son of William and Theresa (Krolkowski) Burns.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Tammy; his children, Sheri (David) Grimm, Jason (Amy) Burns, Alicia Burns, Ethan Burns, and Nicholas Burns; his grandchildren, Cassandra Grimm, Timothy Grimm, Jennifer Sharp, Patti Hawkins, JJ Burns, Brody Burns, and Reagan Burns, and one sister, "Tootsie."
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Burns; his mother, his father, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Ron worked hard all his life and loved his family deeply. He got the greatest pleasure from spending time with his family on the back deck, grilling.
His animated sense of humor kept everyone he knew laughing and it will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Sat, Sep 5 at the Liberty Township Hall.
Services will be provided by the Hall Funeral Chapel of Manton.
