Rolland Hardt, 91, of Mason, MI, formerly of Stockbridge, MI, passed away at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan on Jul 31, 2007. He was born the son of Charles and Ida (Brininstool) Hardt on May 15, 1916, in Detroit, MI. 

On Jan 4, 1941, he married Ethel L Laberteaux and she preceded him in death in 1996. Rolland was known as a story teller, he even told stories to people he did not know and as time went on, he would "improve" his stories especially for the grandchildren. He also was a farmer, loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, singing, and being with his family. Rolland served his country during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He was also a resident of Waterloo Township for 70 years. 

Surviving are his children, Glenda (Les) Wahl of Mancelona, MI, Delores Boos of Mason, MI, Lois (Jim) Armstrong of Mason, MI, Carole (Thomas) Ray of Lansing, MI, and Patty (Gary) Perkins of Mason, MI. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren as well as his brother Lester Hardt of Jackson and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Rolland was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Hardt and a son in law, Paige S Boos. Funeral services were held Fri, Aug 3, with the Rev. Larry Nichols officiating from the Caskey Mitchell Funeral Home.
