Robert P Turner, age 89, of Carsonville, died Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at Stonegate Village, Sandusky.

He was born Jun 24, 1922 in Brown City, son of the late Pirl & Ina (Clark) Turner. He and Mary Eileen Moore were married Aug 2, 1952 in Detroit. She passed away on Mar 11, 1998.

Bob was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was wounded in Iwo Jima. He worked for 30 years as a Grader Operator for the Sanilac Co. Road Commission, Carsonville Garage. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Sanilac, and VFW Post 8872, Port Sanilac.

He is survived by two sons, Robert A. (Karen) Phoenix, AZ and William M. (Rose) of Gilbert, AZ; four daughters, Patricia A. (Mike) Wallace of Carsonville, Michelle D. (Tyler) Cholger of Macomb, Denise L (Andy) Little of Gilbert, AZ, and Lisa K. (Evan) Jones of St. Clair Shores; two sisters, Erma Clarkson of Warren and Dorothy Evans of North Branch; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Pirl H. Jr.

Funeral services will be at 11:30am Wednesday, Apr 18, 2012 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Carsonville. The Rev. Jerry Griggs, Pastor of Carsonville U. Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in in New St. Mary Cemetery. Port Sanilac.
