Robert L (Ozzie) Osborne, 69, of Mancelona, died unexpectedly Mon, Sep 7, in Grand Rapids. His passing was a result of a semi-truck accident.  He was born Oct 21, 1939, in Flint to Clarence L and Aline (Wolpert) Osborne. 

He served four years in the US Army, working with the Military Police in Europe. Robert received an honorable discharge. 

After working several years in the auto industry, the Osbornes moved to northern Michigan in 1970. 

For the past 25 years, Ozzie has been employed as a truck driver , most recently for Grand Traverse Trucking of Traverse City. 

Over the years, he received many driving awards for safety and exemplary service. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine (Kwilosz) Osborne; four daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Moore of Portage, Tammy (Joyce Greenisen) Osborne of Kalkaska, Stacy Fewins of Traverse Citya nd Shannon (Nate Goddard) Osborne of Mancelona; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Stephanie, Donald, Shelby, Jacob, JOrdan, Nathanael, MaKenzee, and Cody; four great grandchildren, Brennan, Allison, Dillon, and James and two sisters, Mary Blackburn of North Branch and Nancy (Eman) Hogerheide of South Boardman. 

A public memorial service was held at the CETA Hall on Country Rd 612 on Sat, Sep 12. The service was at 3 pm with the Rev. Douglas Coone officiating. 

The family received friends at the hall, beginning at 1 pm. A small luncheon was served following the service. 

The family wishes to thank the Cremation and Burial Society of Michgian, and the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home for their kindness and assistance.
