Mr. Robert J Clay, 61, of Fife Lake, died Aug 12, 1998, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Clay was a retired carpenter and had been a resident of Kalkaska County for the past 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Born in Lansing on Mar 12, 1937, he was the son of the late Lewis and Dallas Clark Clay. He married Lois Cox in Lake City on Oct 1, 1966.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son Terry Clay of Fife Lake; daughters Paula Wade of South Boardman, and Rose Hulwick and Loretta Burfiend both of Elk Rapids; brothers Duane Clay of Florida and Marvin and Ronald Clay, both of Fife Lake; sisters Vivian Clay and Susan Clay, both of Florida; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug 15 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Dan Ingersoll officiated. Burial was in Ingersoll Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
