Richard W. VanHaaren, 74, of Kalkaska passed away peacefully on Apr 14, 2006.
Richard was a former member of the US Marine Corps and a retired Detroit Police officer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; and children, Sue of Warren, Judie (Bob) Dzierbicki of Clinton Township, Rick (Linda) VanHarren of Eastpointe, and Donna (Darryl) Grant of Canton; stepchildren, Lynn (Panos) Papalambros and Chris (Lisa) Fudala; grandchildren, Alex Dzierbicki, Emily VanHaaren, Gabby Grant, Nelly, and Maki Papalambros, and Julia Fudala.
A funeral service was held on Apr 15, 2006 at Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor. A memorial service will be held in northern Michigan in the near future.
