Mrs. Retha M. Parker, 74, or Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 12, 1994, of injuries suffered in an auto accident in Kalkaska County. 

Mrs. Parker was born in Kalkaska on Sep 22, 1919, to Clarence and Nellie Morris Hamacher. On May 25, 1938, in Traverse City, she was united in marriage with Raymond Parker who preceded her in death on Jun 8, 1988.

Mrs. Parker had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, and was employed as a teachers aid at the Kalkaska Public School for 26 years prior to her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed gardening and children, and was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ. 

Surviving are two sons, Gale (and his wife, Belva) Parker of Gaylord, and Charles (and his wife, Ellen) Parker of Algonquin, IL; one daughter, Mrs. Red (Joanne) Kennamer of Pinson, AL; one brother, Max Hamacher of Hudsonville; two sisters, Ruby Root of Kalkaska, and Arlene Gyukovitz of Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Wed, Mar 16, 1994, at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
