Raymond L. Burgess, age 74, of Brown City, died Jan 2, 2021. He was born in the Brown City Hospital to Glenn and Elsie Burgess. He graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1964. Ray served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He married Carol Brock on Nov 11, 1967.
Raymond started working at Frank Industries while in High School and continued with Xplorer Motor Homes and retired after 28 years. He also owned and operated the Rocking Horse Tack Shop on VanDyke Rd. He was an avid deer hunter but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was a long time of the FFA and the Marlette Saddle Club. He attended the Omard United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years Carol Burgess, 2 children, Holly Stanisci and Steve (Lisa) Burgess, 5 grandchildren Giovanni, Alexandra (Scott), Luke, Alyssa (Ty) and Connor. Also surviving are siblings Sharon Growth, Gail Maxwell and Gene (Karen) Burgess.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hollis.
A graveside service will be held Mon, Jan 4, 2021 at 2pm in Omard Cemetery.
