Raymond D Wilkie, 64, of Kalkaska, died Dec 30, 2001 in Kalkaska. He was born on Jan 23, 1937, in Gaylord to Ralph and Rose (Lozen) Wilkie.
He married Sharilyn Crane on May 12, 1961. Raymond and Sharilyn moved to Kalkaska from Kalamazoo in 1971. He retired from the Kalkaska Public Schools as the maintenance manager in 1998 after 24 years of service. He was also the owner of Wilkie's Custom Upholstery for 40 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church of South Boardman for 13 years, and a former member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Kalkaska.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharilyn; children, Kathryn S Wilkie of Crown Point, IN, Shelly A (Thayne) Boyer of St Paul, MN, Bradley A (Janice) Wilkie of Lake Station, IN, David R (Digna) Wilkie of Hot Springs, AR, and Jonathan R (Terri) Wilkie of Kalkska; brothers and sisters, Edward (Judy) Wilkie of Blissfield, Wendell (Loretta) Wilkie of Hemlock, Jim (Linda) Wilkie of St. Louis, Ralph (Janet) Wilkie, Jr of Houghton Lake, Lisa (Bob) Duczkowski of Gaylord, Carolyn (Jim) Sabo of Morley, Marilyn (Greg) Edgerly of Cedar Springs, Doug (Pam) Wilkie of WY; and 13 grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Jan 2, 2002, at Victory Baptist Church in South Boardman. Pastor William McQueen officiated.
