Ray A. Brower, 64, of Fife Lake, died Sun ,Sep 17, 1995, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Brower moved to Fife Lake 21 years ago from Hooper. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684, a member of American Legion Post 480, the Masonic Lodge, O.E.S., Chapter 169, Moose Loge No. 2348, Lake City T.O.P.S. Club 1631, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 876. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and stock car racing.
Mr. Brower was born in Hooper on Oct 14, 1930, to James and Mabel Roberts Brower. On Sep 8, 1951, in Orangeville he married Tena Anderson who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Alvin of Plainwell; three sisters, Flossie Steele of Martin and Zelma Largent and Mary Ellen Steele both of Plainwell; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Glenn Brower and Norman Brower, and two sisters, Bertha Brower and Alice Futrell preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield Twp Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Graveside services will be under the auspices of the V.F.W. and the Masonic Lodge.
