Ralph E. "Joe" Follis Jr., 68, of Kalkaska, died Fri, Jun 18, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Follis moved to Kalkaska County from Dearborn Heights in 1991. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Advanced Stamping Company in Redford for 43 years. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed sports and was an enthusiastic golfer.
Born in Detroit on Oct 30, 1930, he is the son of Ralph E. and Martha Adrosky Follis. On Jun 25, 1976, in Toledo, OH, he married Lequita Hicks who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons William (Debra) Hicks of Redford and Robert (Linda) Hicks of Novi; daughters Sherry (Daniel) Baran and Cheryl (Mark) Marosi, both of Allen Park; mother Martha Follis of Canton; brother Robert Follis of Canton; sisters Geri Raymo of Chicago, Connie King of Lodi, CA, Joyce Drewry of Canton, and Joanne Balogh of Northville; and 11 grandchildren.
Brother Kenneth preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jun 21 at St. May of the Woods Catholic Church; Fr. James Holtz officiated. Cremation followed the services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or North Country Hospice.
