USHER - Patricia Ann Beardslee Usher, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare D. Usher; parents, Carl and Maria Beardslee; brother, Frank Beardslee; beloved aunt and uncle Mable and Clyde Byrne. She is survived by her nephew Frank (Edna) Beardslee; several grand nieces and nephews. Pat enjoyed a career in the Insurance industry becoming a commercial lines underwriter at a young age. She earned a teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. In 1962 she married Clare Dubois Usher and joined him in life and business in the Benjamin/Usher Insurance Agency. In retirement she volunteered at Hospice of West Michigan and the Franciscan Life Process Center. Pat loved travel, golf, gardening, antiques, crossword puzzles and people. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster Church, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Rev. Leonard Sudlik, presiding. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church.
