Oren is preceded by death by his mother and father, Etta and Archie Miller. His former wife, Lorraine (Mongene) and his brothers, Bruce, Lawrence, and John. Oren is also preceded in death by his beloved Zoey whom he referred to as “little dog.”

Oren has a lengthy work history which started as a young teen. Later he acquired skills that allowed many years of long and short haul truck driving, snow plow driver and logger. He could operate just about any piece of heavy equipment. He loved being in the woods; camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He prided himself on planting and turning out a great looking and fruitful garden. He enjoyed sharing his experiences on the road. If anyone asked him what route to take on a trip he’d tell them and also tell them what rest area to stop in and where not to stop. Oren’s advice to any young person newly employed was, “Do what the boss tells you to do.” Oren enjoyed having his children and grandchildren visit. He enjoyed listening to their stories of daily living. He enjoyed holding new grandbabies and looking at pictures of them as they grew over the years. He also loved watching the birds in the yard at the bird feeders eat, fly, flutter, and fight.

In his later years, Oren came to know the Lord. His favorite hymn was Because He Lives. If you asked him who his best friend was, his answer was Jesus. May Oren’s life and redemption encourage you to come to know the Lord as well. Oren is resting in peace because of his salvation through Christ Jesus. John 3:16. Psalm 62:5-8.

Services for Oren will be held at Fundamental Baptist Church in Kinross, MI. Oren’s wishes are that during this time, attendance be kept to immediate family only, children and grandchildren. Family does encourage any to sign the guestbook, share a story and leave their condolences to the family.
