Nicole Lynn Hudson of Mesick passed away unexpectedly Friday Morning, May 3, 2019 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 48. Nicole was born on November 17, 1970 in Ludington, Michigan to James J. & Sharon D. (Douglas) Malama and they preceded her in death.

Nicole grew up working in her parents business in Wellston and worked various jobs throughout the years including 23 years at AAR in Cadillac and while she was working there she also worked at Ellen’s Corners in Mesick. Most recently she was employed at Wexford County Central Dispatch.

Nicole loved spending time with her grand baby and her nieces and nephews and enjoyed picking on them as well. She also enjoyed going to the casino, camping, going to the river, and the Upper Peninsula, and music in particular the music of Prince. 

On April 7, 2000 in Cadillac she married Steven T. Hudson and he survives her along with children Taylor Lynn Hunter and Zackery Todd Hudson and a granddaughter, Brooklynn Christine Hunter all of Mesick; 2 brothers: James Malama of Kent, Washington and Douglas (Christine) Malama of San Diego, California; a sister, Denise Malama (Jay Schoenmaker) of Mesick; In-laws, Edward (Linda) Hudson of Cadillac; brothers in law: E. Matt (Jennifer) Hudson of Big Rapids, Scott Hudson and Mark (Sonya) Hudson and a sister in law, Faustina Hudson all of Cadillac; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Todd Hudson II; a brother, Christopher John Malama and a brother in law, Wesley Hudson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac with Pastor John Vermilya officiating. Burial will be at Sherman-Mesick Cemetery in Wexford County. Friends may meet the family from 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
