Nelson H. Tapson, 79, of 6304 Kilgour St., died Friday in the Marlette Community Hospital, Memorial Wing, following a long illness.
He was born Apr 16, 1897, in East Sarafraxa Township. He was a retired milk hauler and carpenter. He was a member of the Marlette I.O.O.F. No 271.
He married Bertha Jeffers Jul 31, 1927, in Croswell.
Mr. Tapson is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Louanne Kitchener Innes, Decker; two sons, Donald Tapson, Huntington Beach, CA ajd John Tapson, Marlette; 10 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Services will be 2 pm Monday in the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette. The Rev. Theodore Bennink, pastor of Marlette United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Marlette Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Marsh Funeral Chapel will be after 4 pm today and from 11 am to 9:30pm Sunday.
