Pvt 1/C Nade Michael Stanich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vucko Stanich, Jeddo was fatally injured in Vietnam on Jul 3, 1970. He was born Aug 28, 1949 in Hammelbur, Germany.
He was graduated by Cros-Lex High School Jun 1967. Married to Miss Kathleen Blaki, Port Huron on Feb 15, 1969.
Pvt. Stanich entered the army Apr 28, 1969 and was assigned to Vietnam Apr 18, 1970. He was injured while on patrol duty Jul 3 and was transferred to a hospital in Vietnam where he died the following day.
He is survived by his wife; his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Alfreda Reynolds, Jeddo, Mrs. Vera Codotte, Lexington; and Mrs. Helen Clarkson, Croswell; his grandmother, Mrs. Rosine Gutwein, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
Remains are in Pollock-Jowett Funeral Home, Port Huron until Fri morning at 9 am when they will be taken to St Martin Lutheran Church, 8th and Chestnut St, Port Huron for funeral services at 11 am. Rev. Joel Jorgenson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeport Cemetery.
