Myrtle Brimmer 79 of Traverse City died Wed, Mar 6, 2013 at her home. She was born on Jul 28, 1933 in Flint the daughter of Jim and Della (Stark) Flinn. Myrtle was formerly employed working as a school assistant, at Nazareth Preschool and was a certified nurse aide with Johnson County Nursing Center and Carondolet Healthcare.
Myrtle was the Brimmer Family Matriarch; where she held the status of a PhD in Motherhood. She enjoyed farming, gardening, reading, sewing, listening to music, board and computer games and was known as the Brimmer Family Rummy Queen.
She loved anything and everything about her children, Ruth Ann (Tom) Hoxsie, Andrew (Diane) Brimmer, Matthew (Rose Mary) Brimmer, Dr. Timothy (Trish) Brimmer, David Brimmer, and Rose (Bill) Selkirk; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place. A celebration of Myrtle’s life will be held 1pm, Sat, Mar 16, 2013 at the Life Story Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at 12 noon. A luncheon will follow at the North Point Community Church.
