Morris Russell Hodges, 79, of Eaton Rapids, died in Elk City, Okla. of a heart attack on April 9, 1990 following a car accident in Arizona earlier in the month.
Mr. Hodges was a seventh and eighth grade teacher and principal of the Kalkaska School system from 1935-1942.
He was born June 4, 1910 in Cadillac. He was a graduate of Cadillac Schools and a Central Michigan University graduate, doing graduate work at Michigan State University; member of National Retired Teachers Association, Eaton Rapids Volunteer Fire Dept. for 12 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy, two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Dottie) Dooley of Traverse City and Mrs. John (Pat) Davidson of Albion; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Beth, in 1939.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 13 at the First Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids. Rev. Gary Coats and Rev. Robert Betts officiated. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery.
