Milo Max Carlisle, 94, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Dec 16, 1995, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. 

Mr. Carlisle moved to Kalkaska County from southern Michigan at the age of 17, and was employed by the Kalkaska County Road Commission prior to his retirement in 1963. He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, the Original Michigan Oldtime Fiddlers Association and Loners on Wheels. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and playing his fiddle. 

Born in St. Joseph County on Jun 15, 1901, he was the son of Samuel and May Gilbert Carlisle. On Sep 19, 1930, he was the united in marriage with Carrie Moore in Kalkaska. She preceded him in death on Apr 19, 1972. 

Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Mary Guthrie and Nellie Cummings and two brothers, Stanley and Theodore Carlisle. 

Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Lantzer of Kalkaska and Donna Buehl of Hastings; two stepsons, Kenneth Long of Big Rapids and Leonard Long of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Charles Carlisle of Concord and Russell Carlisle of Auburn Hills; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Tue, Dec 19, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
