Mrs. Mildred Lawson, 67, of Kalkaska, died Mon, Aug 19, 1996, at her residence.
Mrs. Lawson moved to Kalkaska County three years ago from East Tawas. She enjoyed homemaking.
She was born in Frozen Creek, KY, on May 23, 1929, to Jerry and Haley May (Brewer) Vires. On Dec 27, 1943, in Lawson, KY, she was united in marriage with Earl Lawson who survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Shirley Wolfe of Farmington Hills, Lois Ziegler of Rapid City, and Linda Phillips of Union Lake; two brothers Bill Vires of Walled Lake and Ballard Vires of OH; one sister Mary Overbee of Clay City, KY; and four grandchildren.
Two brothers, Sam and Fitch Vires and one sister, Lily May Robinson, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Thu, Aug 22, 1996, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor Howard Seaver officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
