Michael Edward Aldridge, 35, a gas welder for Steelcase Co, died at his home in Grand Rapids, Friday. He had lived in Grand Rapids for four years and in Fife Lake prior to that. He was a member of the Fife Lake Volunteer Fire Dept., was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Vietnam War, graduated from Kalkaska High School, where he was a member of the football team, and attended Northwestern Michigan College. He was born in Cadillac, March 11, 1947, to Wayne and Madalene (Cummings) Aldridge and was married in Fife Lake, May 8, 1973, to Mary Smith who survives. Also surviving are twins, Michael Wayne and Rebecca Lynn, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Maday of San Diego, Calif., Gail Aldridge of Traverse City, and Mrs. Don (Beth) LaBonte of South Boardman; his mother, Mrs. Madalene Aldridge of Fife Lake; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father in 1973. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Gary T. Haller officiating. Burial will be at Springfield Township Cemetery in Fife Lake. Memorials may be directed to the Fife Lake Fire Department or the Munson Medical Center Neo-Natal Unit.
