Mary Stahler Hoiles, Sr., 87, of Rapid City, died Tue, Jul 20, 1999, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Hoiles had been a resident of the Kalkaska and Antrim County area since moving from New York in 1967. She attended and later taught at the Diller-Quayle School of Music in New York. She enjoyed classical music, animals, and nature.
Mrs. Hoiles was born in Alliance, OH, on Sep 13, 1911, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Severs Stahler. She was married to Samuel Hoiles in 1936 in New York. H epreceded her in death on Oct 26, 1993.
Surviving are son Samuel (JoAnn) Hoiles of Rapid City; daughter Mary Stahler Hoiles Jr of Traverse City; sister Evelyn Anderson of Sarasota, FL; and grandchildren Abigail Hoiles and S. Fred Hoiles both of Rapid City.
Brother Don Stahler preceded her in death.
Private family services were at Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Memorial gifts may be made to an animal shelter or Interlochen Academy.
