Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Burton, Fischer, age 83, passed away Nov 30, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 3pm Tue, Dec 4, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. James Offrink officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
Mary Lou was born on Oct 12, 1935 in Detroit, MI and raised in the Oakwood area of Detroit, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Szalacsi)Toth. Mary Lou married Kurt R. Fischer on Nov 4, 1961 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on Aug 16, 2010. She worked in the Kroger Administration Office, as a secretary from 1954 to 1962.
During the 70s, Mary Lou was on a bowling league at Nightingale Lanes. She was a life-long member of the Hungarian Reformed Church, where she spent many years in the Ladies Guild. Mary Lou enjoyed traveling and camping with her late husband and family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary Lou is survived by children, Kurt (Kim) Fischer and Karen (Keith) Knickerbocker; grandchildren, Chris, Kristin, Kory, Paige (Lance), Scott (Ashley); great grandchildren, Kayden and Ellie; nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Toth.
