Mary Ellen Prokup, 84, of Naples, FL, went to be with the Lord on Sun, Oct 30, 2005.
Mary was born Feb 17, 1921, in Heilwood, PA, to Samuel and Anastasia Terlion.
On Jun 12, 1943, Mary married the love of her life, John Prokup, who preceded her in death on Aug 6, 2005.
John and Mary moved their family from Pennsylvania to Detroit, then on to Kalkaska in 1956. They built, owned and operated Mary's Restaurant near Manistee Lake for many years. They moved to Naples, FL in 1990 for the warmer climate.
Surviving are their sons, John R (Lynda) Prokup of Marco Island, FL, and Daniel G (Judy) of Kalkaska; grandsons, Daniel R (Cynthia) Prokup of Kalkaska and Michael J (Michelle) Prokup of Kalamazoo; and great grandchildren, Sarah, Allison, William, Lee, Heidi, and Robert. Mary also left behind sisters in law, Angeline and LaRue; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Mary; brothers, Peter, George, Daniel, and William; and sisters, Veronica and Elizabeth.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements for Mary were handled by the Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home of Marco Island, FL.
