Mrs. Mary E. Shotton, 80, of South Boardman, died Thu, Jun 22, 1995, at the home of her daughter in East Tawas. 

Mrs. Shotton resided in Southgate until moving to Kalkaska County in 1979. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Southgate and the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Kalkaska. For 11 years she had been the hostess at the Kalkaska Senior Citizen's Center. She enjoyed camping and gardening. 

Born in LaFollette, TN on Oct 17, 1914, she was the daughter of Laskus and Ella Orr Stanridge. On Apr 25, 1943, in Harlan, KY, she married Stanley Shortton who preceded her in death on Aug 18, 1984. 

Surviving are one son, Chester Tinker of South Boardman; two daughters, Brenda Smith of East Tawas and Sandra Parker of Fife Lake; two brothers, Lake Standridge of Lynch, KY and Clyde Stanridge of Dayton, OH; four sisters, Helen Boggs of Blair, KY, Pauline Shotis of Taylor, Opal Queen of Blueridge, GA, and Bonnie Gillman of Southgate; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Mon, Jun 26, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Bert Grooten officiated. Burial was in Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
