Mary Ann Root, 61, of Kalkaska died Oct 6, 1998, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
She had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, and prior to her retirement had been employed by Craft house.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and family.
Born in Petoskey on May 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dean and Mary Jane Barber Hall. She married Donald Root in Kalkaska on Jul 31, 1953.
Surviving are husband Donald; son Michael Root of Mancelona; daughters Joyce Buckler of Kalkaska and Eileen Bilkey of South Boardman; brother Vernon Hall of Buchanan; sisters Frances Schoenemann of South Boardman, and Eileen ressey of Buchanan; and grandchildren.
Sons Alan and Jerry; brothers Thomas and William, and sister Beatrice Schoenemann preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Oct 8 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
