Marshall C. Rooke, 82, of Kalkaska, died Monday, July 16, 1990, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Rooke moved to Kalkaska from Detroit in 1976. He served as a Staff Sgt. with the Army Air Force during WW2. He was employed as a warehouse foreman for Harshaw Chemical Company in Cleveland, Ohio prior to his retirement in 1973.
Mr. Rooke was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Jan. 9, 1908, to James and Helen Graham Rooke. On June 6, 1959, in Detroit, he was united in marriage with Mildred Garrock, who preceded him in death on Sept 21, 1983.
Surviving are one stepson, William Garrock of Kalkaska; one stepdaughter, JoAnn Bonnice of Ft. Wayne, Ind one brother, Robert Rooke of Humbolt, Tenn.; one sister, Ruth Zimmerman of Lyndhurst, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; four nieces and three nephews.
One sister, Virginia Rooke, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Dick Riley, pastor of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
