Marlindean "Dean" Jensen, 71, returned to his Heavenly Father surrounded by his family at his home on Aug 7, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dean was born Oct 27, 1929, in Greenville, to Thelma (McQueen) and Marvin R. Jensen. 

Dean was deeply spiritual and intelligent man. He was also a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved fishing, traveling, camping, with his wife and working on his computer with his family. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of all. 

Dean retired from industry in 1975. He then became a self-employed real estate broker and business owner for many years. Dean had been the elected treasurer for Boardman Township, Kalkaska County, for the last five years. 

Dean will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of 44 years, Peggy of South Boardman; his mother, Thlema (Harold) Jensen of Vestaburg; his children, Cheryl (Jim) Balder of Grand Rapids, Cynthia Nunn of Greenville, Thomas Dean Jensen of Grand Rapids, Valerie Schwartz of Grandville, Deborah (Dan) Brown of Traverse City, Polly (Thomas) Mix of Grand Rapids, Marla "Molly" (Tom) Beach of Blanchard and Marvin D Jensen of Traverse City; brothers, Darwin (Sharon) Jensen of Gun Lake and Marvin (Allene) Jensen Jr of McBride; 31 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his canine companion "Satch."

He was preceded in death by his father Marvin R Jensen, mother in law, Evelyn Hartman and infant granddaughter, Betty Lou. 

At his request, cremation has taken place. We invite you to a reception and Memorial Celebration of his life on Sat, Aug 25, 2001, from 2 to 6 pm at the Unity Church of Traverse City. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Munson Hospice. 

Arrangements have been entrusted the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
